Zap'em For Free!

Game Company Vicious Bytes, crreators of the freeware Tetris like game Zodtris, released a free version of their second game, Zap'Em today. This game was released late last year when it was released through the Tapwave store for $9.99. With the closure of Tapwave , Zap'Em could no longer be sold through the Tapwave store. By releasing a free version, the Vicious Bytes showed great support towards the Zodiac community.

According to the product description, "Zap'Em has two modes of play, Action Zap and Brain Zap. Action Zap mode is filled with fast-action that ends only where your skills do. Pieces approach your space and challenge you to Zap'Em. Brain Zap mode is a puzzle game with stationary pieces that you must clear with a limited number of Zaps."

This is probably the last game from Vicious Bytes for the Zodiac. The developers are now developing cellphone games. Please show support towards ViciousBytes by visiting their forums.

Wowzers! I was actually considering buying this before too long and then Tapwave went up in smoke! Kickass! Downloaded and have played for a short while. Gotta love fast-paced action puzzle games. I'm all over it. Was playing Lumines on my PSP the other day, that'd be an amazing port to Zod. Hehe.

I never played Xoop before but this game is realy fun. Not too complex and not overly graphical but it's really nice as a waiting in line/riding the train/waiting for a meeting to start/bored outta my mind kinda game. Doesn't take too long, automatically pauses if you exit, etc.

Real fun game. I've been playing the original Zoop (note my misspelling before. I think they'd fogive me seeing as how it's not a real word) ROM a bit too. The original has some nice animations that ZapEm doesn't have, but ZapEm overall has a nicer interface and obviously makes better use of screen real estate.
