Tapwave DAA cracked

Not long after Tapwave closing shop, people began to question how long developers could keep getting their applications signed by Joyce. Obviously, Joyce can't always offer her services and eventually will be forced to abandon the Zodiac community.

Well, the DAA has just been cracked by some Russian hackers. You can download the hacked-and-cracked DAA here. Enjoy unsigned applications without qualifications!

Kickass, so we can still write Zodiac API-based code and distribute this crack along with the app for full-on capabilities.

Well, whenever I do finally have time to devote to Palm/Zod dev and some ideas for worthwhile apps/games, I will definitely do so!

Thanks for the link.

ALSO read the forums. the cracked DAA is good for current beta stuff that authors dont want to reqrite and xforge stuff but for non xforge stuff squidge and others came up with code to BYPASS the signing requirement in software this means permanently as part of your program code so no DAA needed at all !!

Hey if I could code down to the shell level, I wouldn't be working as an intern one day a week while trying to finish school.

I think I've seen some sort of Palm DOS emu somewhere though.... maybe DOSBox?

I guess DOSBox is PPC, not Palm. Everything I find that does work (I haven't personally tried, though) is just basic command line stuff, nothing that could run any major apps.

They're also all really slow from what I've read.

Yeah I hadn't had time to thumb through the forum threads, but that's real cool about the X-forge stuff working without a sig now. And I figured squidge+co had some workaround, I remember hearing the latest zquake didn't require DAA for full screen (and it hides the DIA+buttons on the side, etc.)

Thanks for the additional links, Chris!
